Slow to start..

Okay, so I'm basically talking to no one here.. come on now! Been caught up with school so getting going with editing has been rough, but I figured I'd post a few motion-freezes of the footage for the hell of it. These are NOT still-shots with the HD170 ((Those look much better)).. these are snapshots taken through VLC media player.

Little 180 over a hip at Blue Mountain, PA

Little spin off of a similar hip farther up in the run

Shot using the Drift Monopod (Basically a collapsable hand-mount)

And one still from the Goggle mount to give you an idea of the POV's angle

The Product

So, I recently made a purchase I have since been extremely pleased with. What is that purchase? The name of this blog may suggest... it is my brand new Drift HD170 Stealth "Action Camera". In competition with GoPro and Contour, Drift's approach has been more original mounting options, a rotating lens, and being the first action camera to feature a full-functioning LCD display. The one drawback of this camera is the waterproofing.

((The waterproofing on the DriftHD170 is designed for rain and snow, not complete submersion below .5m))

Being your average unemployed-during-classes college student, blowing ~$300 on a camera was pretty rough, but I can assure you it's worth it if you're an action sports enthusiast. To learn more about the purchase package itself... the guys over at www.myPOV360.com have an insane deal, under the "everything but the kitchen sink" package.
